What is beta testing?
Beta testing is when we check how our Agent experiences perform for the players ahead of general release. As a small business creating innovative entertainment, we need wonderful beta testers like you to make our experiences amazing for families.
What is it?
Operation Tricking Miss Trout is a table-based secret agent experience for an adult and 1-3 child/children between 6 and 10 years old where children do three activities to ‘Trick Miss Trout’. It involves decoding, drawing and a bit of trickery. :-)
How does it work?
We use low-tech elements such as audio messages on a mobile device, paper materials and some sticky tape to make the experience ‘feel live’. Most importantly it also needs a fun parent who is happy to be the Communications Officer and practice their stealth skills in the background :-)
What do I need to play?
The experience lasts between 40-60 mins. It requires a phone/tablet with internet access to play, a way to print out 3 pages and some paper, pencils etc. It takes about 5 minutes to set up and we’ll send you instructions.
Then what happens?
After you’ve played you’ll be given a short survey to fill telling us what you and the kids thought, and get entered into a draw for the chance to win a £50 Waterstones gift card.
When is it?
We will be running beta testing 19th, 20th, 26th, and the 27th Feb.

Terms of prize draw

You must have a child/children between 6 and 10 years old to play.

The online survey is the only method of entry for the draw and it is free to enter.

Your name and email address on the survey is the minimum information required to be entered into the draw.

Beta testing will close on 27th Feb 2022 and the draw will take place on 4th March 2022. The winner will be notified by 8th March 2022. We will announce when the draw has been held.

Your name and email address will only be used to contact you if you win the draw, and for our internal record of beta testers.

There will be a prize of £50 gift card to use online or in-store at Waterstones. The Gift card cannot be exchanged for a cash equivalent.

By completing the post-experience survey, you agree to any information given being stored by Playable Studios for 2 years. The information collected will be used to improve this and future experiences.

We may use anonymous quotes from the beta testing when describing the results of the beta testing to others, including reports to our funders, and for describing the experience to our customers, such as on our website, packaging and marketing.
